The American Museum of the Moving Image will usher in the release of Universal summer tentpole actioner "The Hulk" with a complete retrospective of the work of director Ang Lee. A season recapping the five-decade career of recent Oscar winner Roman Polanski follows.

AMMI will host a special advance screening for members June 19 of "The Hulk," prior to national release the following day. Lee and screenwriter James Schamus will participate June 7 in the museum's Pinewood Dialogue series, discussing their collaboration after a screening of Oscar winner "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and Lee's BMW-backed short "Chosen."

"Ang Lee's career is developing in a similar fashion to such great studio system directors as Howard Hawks and John Huston," said AMMI chief film curator David Schwartz. "Like them, Lee has shown his agility in a wide range of genres, moving fluidly between comedies, dramas, epics and small-scale films."

Running May 31-June 8, the season includes all eight features directed by Lee, starting with his Taiwanese films "Pushing Hands," "The Wedding Banquet" and "Eat Drink Man Woman" and continuing with his U.S. work "Sense and Sensibility," "The Ice Storm" and "Ride With the Devil."
AMMI's Polanski season runs June 14-29. The show covers the director's major films such as "Rosemary's Baby," "Chinatown" and "The Pianist"; cult movies like "Knife in the Water," "Cul de Sac," "Repulsion" and "What?"; and a program of Polanski's student films made in Lodz, Poland, in the late 1950s.
