Hulk Smashes E3

I was lucky enough to be at E3 last week and got a chance to play The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. For my complete review of the game from this year's Wizard World LA, click here. The Hulk display was crowded each time I visited and everyone really like what they saw, especially the Hulk girls! Of all the comic book related games at E3, The Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was by far the best. I guess that Activision's Ultimate Spider-Man game won the E3 players choice award, but I demand a recount! Seriously, I I played that game, and it really wasn't that impressed by it. And I am a huge Ultimate Spider-Man fan. I was really hoping for more from the Venom character.

The game has undergone some revisions from the Wizard World preview; the graphics seemed better and more moves have been added. My favorite one is in the last thumbnail. In the game, the Hulk is able to pick up people and then has the option to throw them, flick them off like a fly (also really cool), and now, the ability to put the person down and pet his/her head! It was awesome to see, and the kind of thing that you would think that the Hulk would do: "Good Human".

If you get a chance to play the game, make sure you explore the cityscape completely. I saw the Hulk float to a hidden island using the inflatable mascot. I also saw the Hulk carrying a missile launcher on his shoulder and then remove and throw the missiles!

Although I really enjoyed the first Hulk game, this new game seems more fun and has a less serious tone than its predecessor. Don't get me wrong, this game has complex storyline and is not a kindergarten version of the Hulk; however it does have some great light hearted moments, such as petting humans and even using cows as projectiles! Other special boards like Hulk Baseball also add to this light hearted tone.

Look for the game to be released in late August. Vivendi Universal will also have a presence at this year's San Diego Comic Con and will announce more details about the game at the con. Also look for Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction to show up at all of this years Wizard World conventions.

Stay tuned for more info on the game as it becomes available.
