The Hulk and Bana's Next

I got to talk with Eric Bana the other week during a promo tour in Sydney for "Black Hawk Down" and the topic of "The Hulk" came up. One interesting factoid came when Bana said that he told his agent he won't, for now anyway, do comic books or romantic comedies - having Ang Lee tipped the balance. Bana says "The character for me was interesting because I think he's the only superhero that has no control of the fact he's a superhero, and I thought there was an acting hook in there". He's been preparing for the role since he got it but surprisingly no 'bulking up' is required, the actor appeared very trim and fit at the moment. Another preparation is talking to a friend who went through a similar process a while back - Hugh Jackman. The reason Bana doesn't want to do romantic comedies is that for now he's very keen on doing serious drama and will hopefully do a comedy one day again but probably not in the immediate future.
