Have They Cast The New Hulk?!

The following was originally posted on Aintitcool.com:

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

First time source here.

You know what that means. This is a rumor, and nothing more at the moment. Still, it’s a fascinating rumor, and if this does pan out, I think it’s a really cool choice for “puny Banner.”

Hey Harry –

I've been a longtime fan and wanted to fill you in on the latest casting news coming out of Hollywood. The movie? HULK 2 - which is one movie I have little desire to see. I'm still not quite sure WHY movie execs feel they need to remake this movie. Anyway, it seems they've signed their leading man and will be unveiling him to the public soon. The name is familiar and an interesting choice.

ADRIEN BRODY.

I'm curious as to what you think of him in the role? I haven't seen the script yet but my sources inside the studio say it's pretty good. If you share this news on your website, please keep my name secret.... you can refer to me as SCRUPLE.

Keep up the great work.

Peter Gallagher NOT Bruce Banner In The New Incredible Hulk Film

The following was originally posted on IESB.net:

So can the OC star be the next Dr. Bruce Banner in the Marvel retelling of the Incredible Hulk? Or a villain or supporting character?

This morning I received a very interesting email from one of our readers. Before you read the following, I want to be very clear on this, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONFIRM ANY OF THIS! Okay, here it is:

Thought you might be interested. My fiancee works at the CW network in **********. We just watched that last episode of THE OC on screener. Not bad. If you want spoilers, email me. Anyway, thought you'd be interested to know that Peter Gallagher has been up [he may have it by now? or not] for a role in the "Hulk" sequel. His scenes on the final episode had to be shifted around, because of some kind of test on the movie. Anyway, could be old news....

“D”

Update: Gallagher's publicist just gave us a call with another quick update, so what did she have to say? That the story is not accurate. He has not yet read for a role and as far as she knows no casting has been done for the film.

Matthew Modine In The Incredible Hulk?

The following was originally posted on DarkHorizons.com:

Modine In "Hulk"?

Dark Horizons scooper 'Indiana' visited California Adventure Park today and met actor Matthew Modine at the Ariel's Grotto Restaurant.

Aside from questionable taste in cuisine, Modine apparently revealed the following which would indicate he has a role in the upcoming "The Incredible Hulk":

"He said he's in town doing a bit of work on a new film called "The Neighbour" - which he said is going to be very funny - and then he said he's doing something else with the "makers of the Transporter movie that I did". I pushed... and he went "[made funny growling noise] he's big and green".

Hulk 2 Begins Shooting June 1st in Toronto

The following was originally posted on Moviesonline.ca:

My man in the know in the TDot AKA Toronto Canada dropped me word that Hulk 2 is in full swing. He also pointed out that he is fully aware that the Toronto Star says its not, and says HE is right, they are wrong. Bold statement, but my insider has never been wrong yet so I am going to trust him on this one. He says that all the pre-production departments are in full swing and shooting begins in the first week of June. I am really excited to see how this one ends up!

We had a chance to catchup with Avi Arad to talk to him about the upcoming Hulk 2 movie.

Q: How did you get to do a Hulk sequel when the first was a bomb?

AA: Well, first I don’t call it a bomb. I think creatively, it was a really interesting movie. And look at the weekends out there, the movie did $132 million domestic. I don’t know if you call it a bomb. Call the studios and make a deal with them. Whatever you put out there…

Q: Wasn’t it perceived as a disappointment?

AA: Yeah, because everything is compared to this one. I have some hair, but next to him I have none, so life is about comparison.

Q: When was the idea to say bring the hulk back and reinvent it?

AA: I always wanted to bring it back. I always said I’m going to bring it back and bring it back in a different way, and I think the movie is going to be spectacular. Not good, spectacular. Different.

Q: Already has a date?

AA: Yeah.

Q: Will it be under $100 million budget?

AA: I don’t know what you can do for under 100 these days.

Hulk Not Shooting Until July?

The following was originally posted on Canada.com:

Shinan Govani, National Post
Published: Monday, April 30, 2007

MEANWHILE, I SEE, I HEAR:

That the start date for the Toronto shoot of The Incredible Hulk-- starring the un-Hulk-like Edward Norton -- has now apparently been moved up to July?

Well that contradicts the last post, but you can be sure that The Incredible Hulk will start filming this summer in Toronto.
